Employers Must Accommodate Breastfeeding Employees in New Jersey

Tuesday, January 23, 2018

Effective January 8, 2018, employers in New Jersey must accommodate breastfeeding employees. It is a violation of New Jersey's discrimination laws for a working woman to be fired or discriminated against because of breastfeeding or expressing her milk during breaks. Employers are required to provide reasonable break time each day and a location for an employee who is breastfeeding to express her milk in privacy.
